This year, ReD has decided to commence with a tutorship programme for the PhD candidates new to Liège. The main goal of this tutoring program is to provide incoming international PhD candidates with a resourceful support for an easy and effective integration in the country and the institution.
Following activities are proposed within this program:
- Help incoming PhD candidates with the bureaucratic process (visa, residence permit, health insurance, etc.) and settling in the city.
- Tips concerning accommodation search and housing contracts in Liège.
- Make the students aware of activities planned by the university and student groups (ReD, departmental groups, etc.)
- Introduce to career development events organized within the university by ARD (thematic and scientific programs).
- Offer insightful information regarding financing PhD activities such as conferences, research semester abroad, doctoral school courses and scholarship applications.
- Make recommendations about inter-cultural events taking place around Liège to experience the local culture firsthand.
- Inform about leisure activities after work such as sports, apéro, language exchange and hobby groups, etc.
