What does being a relay entail?

Being a relay of the ReD is acting as a vector of information and of dynamism between PhD students: it is substantiating the network. The relays constitute the link between the ReD coordinators and the PhD students of each doctoral college. In order to ensure dynamic exchanges between members, everybody should participate to at least one or two general reunions per year.

Within their college, and depending on the needs and the available time, a relay can plan on several actions such as:

  • Relay ReD’s information and activities to their doctoral college and bring up the issues from PhD students to the ReD;
  • Act as a person of reference for students of their college who start their PhD or who need information;
  • Contribute to the social exchanges between PhD students of their college (via the organisation of the welcome drink and / or through regular socializing events / meetings;
  • Contribute to scientific exchanges within the doctoral college or faculty and promote learning within a group of colleagues (e.g. via regular scientific or methodological meetings between PhD students, via the exchange of references,...).

This list is not exhaustive and only the first task is a requirement! It all depends on your objectives and your drive to share your energy with your colleagues around PhD related subjects. The actions to undertake also depend on existing or lacking dynamics within your doctoral college.
