Call Center

The ReD is there to listen to you!

This year, ReD has decided to create a call centre for PhD candidates experiencing difficulties.

This group’s purpose is to create a call centre that is available for the PhD candidates at ULiège so that they can express their feelings on personal issues that are directly linked to their well-being during the thesis.

Self-evidently, the contact people that are suggested are not psychotherapists and they don’t replace the advice of a professional. Nevertheless, these PhD candidates are there to provide a listening and friendly ear to those who need it. They might or might not experience the same stuggles, but we consider that exchanges between PhD candidates can have a positive effect for our professional and affective experiences can, more often than not, be similar in certain ways.

In case you need it, you can send an email to the ReD address with “Call Center” in the subject line of the email. Don’t forget to mention the contact person that you would like to reach and, if you want that, you can also write a few lines on the issue that you are dealing with. The selected contact person will come back to you as soon as they can so that you can organize a confidential phone call or an online meeting. They will listen to you and you will reflect on the different possible solutions to solve the issue you are facing, if that is what you want to do, of course.

You will find below several PhD candidates to get in touch with. Each of them focuses on a particular matter, but they can also deal with other issues, so do not hesitate to choose the person with whom you would feel most comfortable.

  • Audrey (Fr/En)
Deals with professional interpersonal issues (with your supervisor, with your work colleagues, etc.).
  • Mudrika (En)
Deals with the difficulties that internantional PhD candidates might experience (isolation, cultural differences, etc.).
  • Bastien (Fr/En)
    Deals with issues of discrimination.

We are here to help, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with us!

Many thanks to the team behind this project: Mudrika Tripathi, Bastien Bomans, and Audrey Renson.
